In November of last year I visited the city of São Paulo as part of the Cooperative Árvore's initiative, Portugal at a Glance: The Journey - A Meeting of Two Peoples. It should be noted that this initiative has brought decisive conditions that have dictated the rapprochement between Portugal and Brazil. In this context, I consider particularly relevant the approximation between the cultural domain, especially the approximation between Portuguese and Brazilian artists, a factor that will foster close ties in several other areas.
The concrete translation of this understanding is the exhibition that the Administration of the Port of Sines, in partnership with the Sines Town Hall, promotes in the Chapel of Mercy, in parallel with the reception of a business mission from the State of São Paulo to the region of Sines.
The Administration of the Port of Sines feels honored to be able to participate in this event, giving body to an initiative that we believe allows an approximation of two cultures that, although spatially distant, have a common root and also a shared secular path.
Finally, we would like to emphasize the high quality of the artists present in this initiative, which gives a particular interest and dimension to this cultural manifestation.
