To show the different interpretations of figurative sculpture and the convergence between them. This is the concept of the exhibition “Poéticas Concretas Soteropaulistanas”, which was on display from the 18th of July until 18th of August (2019), at the Museu da Misericórdia of Bahia’s Santa Casa. Curated by the architect and artist Luiz Humberto Carvalho, the exhibition brought together 40 sculptures signed by Newton Santana, Olívia de Martinez, Ilka Lemos and Ciça Callegari. “They are distinct poetics with much in common. Art shared in the same space and its diversity only adds more value to the sculptures”, says curator Luiz Humberto Carvalho. Iron, clay, resin and ceramics are the materials used in these artworks.
